#uShaka15 Birthday Campaign

1. Definitions and introduction

    • 1.1 In this Agreement the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings (and, where applicable, the singular shall include the plural):
    • “Campaign” Any promotion, give-away, voucher or competition operated by uShaka Marine World (whether on its own behalf or on behalf of its sponsors) or any company, website owned or controlled, directly or indirectly.
    • “Entrant” Any person who participates in the competitions or actions of the #uShaka15 Birthday Campaign
    • Any references to “us”, “we” and “our” shall be references to the uShaka Marine World (incl. Wet ‘n Wild and Sea World)
    • “Prize” Any prize(s) offered or awarded in the #uShaka15 Birthday Campaign
    • “Terms” These competition terms and conditions, together with any specific rules, entry instructions and any other specific details relating to the particular campaign or competition published on this website or any other website, or in any media which features the #uShaka15 Birthday Campaign.
    • “You” Any reference to “you” is to you as an Entrant or Participant or Winner of (as the case may be) a Competition in the #uShaka15 Birthday Campaign.
    • 1.2 These Terms shall be binding on you when you enter, participate in or win any Competition or accept any Prize. Entry or participation in any Competition, or winning or accepting any Prize, shall be deemed an unconditional acceptance by you of these Terms.
    • 1.3 In the event that there is any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and any specific terms and conditions relating to a particular Competition then the specific terms and conditions will prevail.
    • 1.4 You agree to cooperate with and comply with all reasonable requests of uShaka Marine World.
    • 1.5 uShaka Marine World reserves the right, in its reasonable discretion, to add to, amend, vary or waive any Terms on reasonable notice.

 

2. Eligibility to enter or Participate within the #uShaka15 Birthday Campaign

    • 2.1 In order to make a valid entry into any competition within the #uShaka15 Birthday Campaign you must:
      • 2.1.1 be a South African citizen
      • 2.1.2 use your legal name as stated on your South African ID or Passport; and, unless otherwise stated
      • 2.1.3 enter as an individual only, not as part of a syndicate, group or agency
    • 2.2 Unless otherwise stated, you may not enter a Competition if:
      • 2.2.1 you are an employee, freelancer or contractor of uShaka Marine World or any family member of an employee, freelancer or contractor of uShaka Marine World;
      • 2.2.2 Proof of eligibility to enter a Competition in the Campaign must be provided to uShaka Marine World on request. uShaka Marine World reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all Entrants or Participants
      • 2.2.3 If the R150 Voucher contains a printing error of any kind; or is found to be mutilated, illegible, altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with in any way; uShaka Marine World reserves the rights to refuse the Participant entry.
    • 2.3 Breach of any of these terms and conditions may result in your disqualification from a Competition or withdrawal of any Prize within the #uShaka15 Birthday Campaign.
    • 2.4 Only natural persons will be eligible to be entered into the competition. Fake or persona entries will be disqualified. In the event of any dispute, the decision of the uShaka Marine World is final. All rights reserved.

4. R150 Double Combo Voucher Terms & Conditions.

4.1 This voucher cannot be redeemed in conjunction with pre-booked visits such as visiting school groups.

4.2 This voucher cannot be redeemed in conjunction with any other special offers.

4.3 Valid proof of identification – this includes your ID book, Passport, Driver’s licence, Smart ID or a copy of your Birth Certificate – must be available upon request.

4.4 Voucher is redeemable by children over the age of 3 years.

    • 4.4.1 Children under the age of 3 years enter for FREE.

4.5 This voucher will only be valid between 01 May and 31 May 2019 – No extensions will be made.

    • 4.5.1 Wet ‘n Wild is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays out of Peak Season.

4.6 In order to redeem this voucher, you can:

    • 4.6.1 Purchase your combo ticket online and redeem your discount.
    • 4.6.2 or print out the voucher & present it at uShaka Ticketing.

4.7 The R150.00 voucher entitles the bearer to pay ONLY R150 for a Double Combo Ticket. Which is entry into Sea World and Wet ‘n Wild for 1x Adult & 1x Child (3 – 12 years old).

4.8 The Double Combo Ticket is valid for 1x Adult & 1x Child (3 – 12 years old).

    • 4.8.1 and can only be redeemed ONCE; for both persons (1 Adult & 1 Child) at the same time. Double Combo Ticket holders can only enter uShaka Marine World together.
    • 4.8.2 uShaka Ticketing will issue 2x wristbands for 1x Double Combo Ticket. 1x Adult & 1x Child wristband.
    • 4.8.3 1x Adult & 1x Child need to be present together in order to redeem the Double Combo Voucher.

 

5. Spot Prizes & Social Media Related Competitions.

5.1 The competition will run from 01 May 2019 – 31 May 2019 on the terms specified on the platform and close on 31 May 2019.

5.2 The competition mechanic requires entrants to ‘Like’ the uShaka Marine World page found at https://www.facebook.com/uShakaFanPage, like or react with the reaction/Video/Image that best describes why the Entrant loves uShaka. They are required to either comment on a post that is posted on the uShaka’s Facebook Page, or upload their own post and use the #ushaka15 when posting. The winners will be drawn at Random from all the valid entries and will qualify by posting, sharing and liking both our page and the post.

    • 5.2.1 The prize will be sent to the competition winner via email, or it may be collected. No cash alternative is available.

5.3 Entrants must set Facebook Privacy Settings to visible for the uShaka Marine World to view they have shared the post and liked the Facebook page correctly. This will also allow uShaka Marine World to contact the winner directly.

5.4 Competition winners will be notified within 28 days of the end date of the relevant Competition and Prizes must be claimed within 28 days of such notification. Any claim to a Prize made outside the time or manner specified for the relevant Competition will be invalid.

5.5 uShaka Marine World may refuse the redemption of any prize if any information or any irregularities or fraudulent activities are detected.

5.6 Only natural persons will be eligible to be entered into the competition. Fake or persona entries will be disqualified. In the event of any dispute, the decision of the uShaka Marine World is final.

5.7 The #uShaka15 Birthday Campaign is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook. Should you opt-in, you understand that you are providing your information to uShaka Marine World and The No Nonsense Group (uShaka Marine World’s digital agency), not to Facebook.

 

6. In order to enable uShaka Marine World to correctly identify genuine claims and to eliminate non-genuine, deceitful or fraudulent claims, uShaka Marine World reserves the right to:

6.1 Request evidence of Competition entry;

    • 6.1.1 Request proof of identity, age and address in the form of your passport or drivers licence.
    • 6.1.2 All Prizes are non-transferable and may not be given, assigned or sold to another person.
    • 6.1.3 Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash.

Spend and Win - Village Walk

1. This competition is organised by uShaka Marine World and is open to everyone residing in the Republic of South Africa, except employees and their immediate family members (including, but not limited to, spouses, life partners, parents, children, brothers and sisters) of uShaka Marine World, Village Walk Tenants and members of the company who are part of the promotion/competition.

 

2. People who may not enter the competition:

      • a. Directors, partners, employees, agents, consultants, service providers, promoters,
      • b. Suppliers and Tenants of uShaka Village Walk Mall or a family member, business partner or associate of any such persons.

 

3. By entering this competition, all participants and prize winners agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the competition

 

4. The competition runs from 30th April till 30TH June 2019

 

5. To enter, shoppers must spend R115 or more at uShaka Village Walk, during the promotional period of the competition.

 

6. This offer excludes uShaka Park Ticketing Office and Dangerous Creatures.

 

7. It is however valid for uShaka Kids World and Sea Animal Encounters Island and at Participating outlets within the Park and uShaka Village Walk.

 

8. Any participating outlet may at any time withdraw from the participation in this competition, with uShaka Marine Worlds approval.

 

9. Attach the original till slip to the completed entry form, and drop into the entry box.

 

10. Only 1 till slip may make up the R115 total.

 

11. One entry form per till slip, as in “Spend R115 or more” and enter

 

12. Guests may enter more than once.

 

13. In order to enter the competition, you have to legibly complete the entry forms / questions as well as provide us with your correct contact details.

 

14. Entry boxes can be found at Wahooz, Guest Relations Officers hut at Ticketing, uShaka Kids World, Sea Animal Encounters Island, Welcome Centre and in the uShaka Village Walk Mall food court.

 

15. Only original pay point receipts from uShaka Marine World participating outlets dated between 30 April 2019 and 30 June 2019, 11pm will be valid in order to enter into the competition.

 

16. The winner’s prize will be couriered to their address and all prizes must be redeemed before the expiry dates. No extensions will be allowed and Prizes are not exchangeable for cash.

 

17. Entries will be drawn at random on Monday 1st July 2019, and winners will be notified.

 

18. The Promoters will endeavour to contact the winner/s on the telephone number and address provided. If, however they cannot be reached after 6 attempts have been made during business hours within a period of one week for any reason whatsoever, the prize will be forfeited and another winner will be selected.

 

19. The winner may be requested to allow his/her name and photograph to be used for publicity purposes. The Promoter reserves the right to request that images taken of the winner or staff be used for publicity purposes in any manner they deem fit, without any further remuneration being made payable to the winner, which request the winner may decline in writing.

 

20. The participants of this competition and winners may be required to appear on television or radio, in print publications or online sites to endorse, promote or advertise the goods or services at uShaka Marine World. However, participants / winners of the competition shall at all times be entitled to decline the above request.

 

21. The Promoters reserve the right, to at any time, to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any participant who submits an entry that is in breach of these terms and conditions. Failure by the Promoters to enforce any of their rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

 

22. By entering this competition, you authorize uShaka Marine World to collect, store and use (not share) personal information of entrants for communication or statistical purposes.

 

23. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

24. By entering this competition, entrants agree to and accept the full Terms and Conditions as stated onwww.ushakamarineworld.co.za, these are also available at the Welcome Centre, at all participating stores and at uShaka Marine World Reception.

 

25. The Promoter shall have the right to terminate the competition immediately and without notice for any reason beyond its control requiring this. In the event of such termination, all participants agree to waive any rights that they may have in terms of this promotion and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the Promoter, its agents and staff.

 

26. All risk and liability pertaining to any prize will be passed to the winner on signing over and receipt thereof. By signing receipt of prizes from official courier winners indemnify the Landlord and its agents against any claim that may arise as a result of the competition and/or prize awarded to any winner.

By participating in King Shaka International Airport’s Reward Yourself! promotion, participants agree to the Terms and Conditions as set out below. The promoter reserves the right to unilaterally disqualify any participant who does not comply with any of these Terms and Conditions, as said by the promoter.

 

  1. The promotion begins at 08h00 on 01 May 2019 and concludes at 22h00 on 30 June 2019, or while stocks last.

 

  1. The promotion is open to aIl King Shaka International Airport travellers, customers, and “meeters & greeters”.

 

  1. Entrants must be 18 years or older.

 

  1. The promotion is run by King Shaka International Airport and the officially-appointed advertising agency, Kwenda Marketing. in partnership with sponsor, uShaka Marine World.

 

  1. Travellers who spend R500 or more, collectively, in one day at any Landside retail store(s) or restaurant(s) at King Shaka International Airport during the campaign can go to the designated claiming station to claim their FREE tickets to Sea World at uShaka Marine World.

 

  1. The claiming station will be open during the campaign from Monday to Sunday from 8am until 10pm.

 

All risk and responsibility towards the prize will pass over to the participant as soon as the prize is handed over.

 

  1. A valid claim will consist of the original till slips for purchasers) made at any store(s) or restaurant(s) in the Landside area of King Shaka International Airport, and which have been collected in one day, and which add up to the minimum spend of R500. Only original proof of purchases will be accepted.

 

  1. Original till slip(s) will need to be handed in at the claiming station in order to receive the promotional tickets.

  1. By entering the promotion, participants agree to have no claim against the promoter (including the landlord and/or any of its agents) for any reason whatsoever arising from the promotion, including the way in which valid claims are calculated.

 

  1. Participants may enter the promotion as many times as they wish over the period of the promotion. Only one combo ticket can be claimed for per till slip. Multiple combo tickets will not be issued for one claim of minimum R500, ie you cannot spend Rl000 and claim two combo tickets unless your till slips are split between R500 as this is the qualifying spend amount.

 

  1. Travellers are required to present their passports or valid identification to claim, as well as to answer a number of questions.

 

Nobody can claim on behalf of any customer.

 

  1. Neither King Shaka International Airport staff members, promoters, nor Kwenda Marketing staff members, are allowed to receive promotional gifts as rewards from travellers who have qualified to claim.

Mr, Miss & Miss Junior uShaka Marine World 2019/2020

ONLINE ENTRY

1. The online registration for Mr & Miss uShaka, Miss Junior uShaka , and Mr & Miss Kids World 2019/20, will open from 27 May – 17 June 2019.

2. Age Categories for entry:

      • a) Mr Kids World [6-8 years]
        b) Miss Kids World [6-8 years (No Makeup , No hair extensions; Braids are permissable )]
        c) Miss Junior uShaka [13-16 years (Minimal Makeup)]
        d) Miss uShaka [17-27 years]
        e) Mr uShaka [17-27 years]

 

3. All entries MUST include:

      • a) Fully and legibly completed and signed entry form by contestant and parent/guardian (if under 18)
        b) 1 full length, 1 half- length full colour photograph (in tasteful age appropriate manner) Photos will not be returned.
        c) A certified copy of birth certificate/ Identity document of the contestant.
        d) A certified copy of Identity document of the contestants’ parent/guardian if under 18.
        e) All online entries MUST reach uShaka by no later than 23h59 on 17 June 2019.)

4. Entries which do not have ALL the above required information will be automatically disqualified.

5. Photo selection will be done by a panel by no later than 19 June 2019.

6. Contestants who meet all the requirements will be invited to one of the Regional Rounds, which will take place on, 13 July, 20 July, and 27 July 2019 (dates subject to change.

7. Contestants who have participated previously in this pageant and have not taken any title in the category in which they are entering, are allowed to re-enter the competition; however, it remains the sole discretion of DMTP/uShaka Marine World to allow previous contestants to re-enter.

8. uShaka Marine World reserves the right to host an Open Audition to attract more contestants should a need arise, before or after the regional rounds.

9. Contestants MUST be within the appropriate age category to enter and must be within the age category in which they entered, upon crowning on the 5th October 2019 (Mr & Miss Kids World Final) and 12th October 2019 (Mr & Miss uShaka, Miss Junior Final.

10. Please note uShaka Marine World does not charge a contestant entry fee to enter this competition.

 

MANUAL ENTRY

1. The manual registration for Mr & Miss uShaka, Miss Junior uShaka, and Mr & Miss Kids World 2019/20, will open from 2 May – 31 May 2019.

2. Age Categories for entry:

      • a) Mr Kids World [6-8 years]
        b) Miss Kids World [6-8 years (No Makeup , No hair extensions; Braids are permissable )]
        c) Miss Junior uShaka [13-16 years (Minimal Makeup)]
        d) Miss uShaka [17-27 years]
        e) Mr uShaka [17-27 years]

 

3. All entries MUST include:

        b) 1 full length, 1 half – length full colour photograph (in tasteful age appropriate manner) Photos will not be returned.

        e) All manual entries MUST reach uShaka Marine World by no later than 16h45 on 31 May 2019.)
        f) Manual entries can be dropped off at uShaka Marine World reception. A delivery book MUST be signed upon submission.
        g) Please ensure that manual entry form, supporting documentation and photographs are stapled together and in an envelope upon submission.
        h) Entries which do not have ALL the above required information will be automatically disqualified.
        i) Photo selection will be done by a panel by no later than 19 June 2019.
        j) Contestants who meet all the requirements will be invited to one of the Regional Rounds, which will take place on 13 July, 20 July and 27 July 2019.(dates subject to change)

4. Contestants MUST be within the appropriate age category to enter and must be within the age category in which they entered, upon crowning on the 5th October 2019 (Mr & Miss Kids World Final) and 12th October 2019 (Mr & Miss uShaka, Miss Junior Final).

5. Contestants who have participated previously in this pageant and have not taken any title in the category in which they are entering, are allowed to re-enter the competition; however, it remains the sole discretion of DMTP/uShaka Marine World to allow previous contestants to re-enter.

6. Please note uShaka Marine World does not charge a contestant entry fee to enter this competition.

 

REGIONAL ROUNDS

The Regional rounds for Mr & Miss uShaka, Miss Junior uShaka,and Mr & Miss Kids World 2019/20, will take place 13 July, 20 July and 27 Julyin the following regions (subject to change without notification):

 

      • ~ South Coast-  13 June 2019
        ~ North Coast- 20 July 2019
        ~ uShaka Marine World – 27 July 2019

 

      • 1. All contestants MUST be checked in between 9am to 10:45am or they will not be allowed to participate.
        2. Contestants will be judged on physical appearance, smile, confidence, walk, poise and brand fit to the uShaka Brand.
        3. All contestants attending the Regional rounds MUST be in smart/casual, clean and age appropriate attire.
        4. Absolutely no makeup is allowed in the Mr & Miss Kids World uShaka contestants. Lip-gloss and glitter are acceptable.
        5. Minimal makeup allowed on the Miss Junior uShaka contestants.
        6. Miss Junior contestants are allowed heels no more than 5cm/ 50mm.
        7. Makeup is allowed for Mr & Miss uShaka contestants, however make up must look natural.
        8. Points will be deducted should any contestant not abide by these rules.
        9. Up to 64 contestants across all categories will be selected in the regional rounds, for participation in the Interview/Talent and Semi-Final rounds.

 

Talent Round – Kids World

The Talent Round for Mr & Miss Kids World will take place on 10 August 2019, at uShaka Kids World.

All contestants MUST be checked in and registered between 10.00 to 10.30am or they will not be allowed to participate and will therefore lose points.  This round will start promptly 11.00pm to 14:00pm. (Times and dates subject to change)

      • 1. Contestants will be judged on costume, creativity, talent, entertainment, cuteness factor and brand fit to the uShaka brand.
        2. All costumes must be age appropriate and creative.
        3. Minimal makeup and minimal hair extensions are allowed for the Talent competition if it fits with the theme of the costume.
        4. Each contestant will be given up to 2 minutes to perform their routine
        5. Any background music must be given to the organiser upon arrival and prior to the start of the event in a USB memory stick or CD with clear instructions .
        6. Points will be deducted should any contestant not abide by these rules.

 

Interview Round

The Interview Round for Miss Junior uShaka and Mr & Miss uShaka will take place on 11 August 2019, at uShaka Marine World.

All contestants MUST be checked in between 09:00 am to 10:45am or they will be disqualified.

      • 1. Contestants will be asked individual questions by each of the judges.
        2. Scores will be tallied upon interview of all the contestants and will count towards the Semi-Final score.
        3. All contestants must be appropriately dressed for their interview.
        4. Each contestant will be given a maximum of 1 minute with each judge. So be ready to impress and brush up on your general knowledge.
        5. All semi-finalists in each of the Mr & Miss, Miss Junior uShaka categories will be expected to participate.

 

Semi-Final Round

The Semi-Final round for Mr & Miss uShaka, Miss Junior uShaka, and Mr & Miss Kids World 2019/20, will take place on 17 August at uShaka Marine World.

      • 1. All contestants MUST be checked in between 9am to 10:45am or they will not be allowed to participate.
        2. Contestants will be judged on physical appearance, smile, confidence, walk, poise and brand fit to the uShaka Marine World Brand.
        3. All contestants attending the Semi-Final round MUST be in blue jeans and a plain white T-shirt/ vest for male contestants and plain white vest for females/girls.
        4. All jeans and T-shirts/ vest must be clean and age appropriate.
        5. An age appropriate swimming costume is required for this round and must be in a tasteful style.
        6. All male contestants in the Mr uShaka category may be required to wear shorts only i.e. topless for this segment of the Semi-Final round.
        7. Absolutely no makeup is allowed in the Mr & Miss Kids World contestants. Lip-gloss and glitter are acceptable.
        8. No high heels longer than 2cm/20mm are allowed on Mr & Miss Kids World uShaka contestants.
        9. Minimal makeup allowed on the Miss Junior uShaka contestants. A natural look is preferable.
        10. Miss Junior contestants are allowed high heels no more than 5cm/ 50mm.
        11. Makeup is allowed for Mr & Miss uShaka contestants, however make up must look natural.
        12. Points will be deducted should any contestant not abide by these rules.
        13. Up to 16 contestants in each category will be selected to participate in the final rounds.

 

PR Photoshoot

The official photoshoot  for Mr & Miss uShaka, Miss Junior uShaka and Mr & Miss Kids World 2019/20, will take place on 24 August 2019 (Weather dependant)

      • 1. All finalists MUST be present for this photoshoot. Please note, failure to be present for the photoshoot, shall mean being disqualified in the Facebook competition.
        2. Please note; no other images either than those taken at this photoshoot will be utilised for any part/round of the competition.
        3. All finalists must wear solid colour swimming costumes (no stripes, florals, mixed colours etc). Contestants are encouraged to bring towels and sunscreen as they may be asked to pose inside the water or on the slides.
        4. Minimal makeup may be worn by Miss Junior and Miss uShaka contestants. Absolutely no makeup or hair extensions (braids permissible) must be worn by Miss Kids World finalists.
        5. Only 1 parent accompanying the Mr & Miss Kids World finalists will be provided with a ticket to enter the photoshoot area.
        6. Any other accompanying parent must pay the uShaka Marine World entrance fee, should they wish to enter the photoshoot area. Should the photoshoot be postponed, due to unfavourable weather conditions, finalists MUST avail themselves on the following day/s (25 August 2019) or at latest the 31st August 2019 the following weekend, should weather not be favourable on the 24th August.

Sponsorship Round

The Sponsorship round for Mr & Miss uShaka, Miss Junior uShaka 2019/20, will take place from 19 August – 27 September 2019.

      • 1. All contestants MUST seek sponsorship of no less than R2, 000.00 cash.
        2. Contestants who fail to raise the required sponsorship amount and deposit the amount into the uShaka Marine World back account by 27 September at 16h30pm, will have 10 points deducted from their final score. All contestants who have successfully raised the required amount and submitted to uShaka by 27 September at 16h30pm, will be credited 10 points towards their final score.

Little People’s Choice Voting Round

The Mr & Miss Kids World “Little People’s Choice”  2019/20, will take place from 9 September – 20 September 2019.

      • 1. All contestants must vote for 1 of the other contestants in their cateogory.
        2. Contestants must provide a written motivation as to why they are voting for that particular contestants in no less than 30 words.
        3. All the votes must be submitted either via email to: dmoerane@ushakamarineworld.co.za or dropped off at the uShaka Reception no later than 20 September 2019 at 16h50.
        4. The votes for category of the Mr & Miss Kids World will be tallied and the winner will be announced at the Final on the 5th October 2019.
        5. The winner/s of the Little People’s Choice will receive in each category (Mr & Miss Kids World) with the most votes, will receive a cash prize of R1 000 each, after the finals.

 

Facebook Competition Round

The Facebook competition round for Mr & Miss uShaka, Miss Junior uShaka, 2019/20, will take place from 9 September – 30 September 2019.

      • 1. All contestants MUST avail themselves for a photoshoot to be completed by no later than 31 August (as per dates provided). Appropriate arrangements will be made by the uShaka Marine World Entertainment Department.
        2. All photographs taken at this photoshoot are the property of uShaka Marine World, and will be publicised on the uShaka website and or social media sites.
        3. Contestants are encouraged to gain as many votes as possible in this round by sharing via the uShaka Marine World Facebook page.
        4. Fake facebook profiles are prohibited from being created for the purpose of winning this competition.
        5. Should a contestant be found to be using fake profiles for the purposes of winning the Facebook competition; the contestant will be disqualified from the Facebook competition and points deducted, if it can be proven that fake profiles were used to increase votes.
        6. The winner/s of the Facebook competition round in the Mr & Miss uShaka, Miss Junior , categories, with the most likes on the uShaka Facebook page, will receive a cash prize of R2 500 each, after the finals.
        7. The Facebook competition closes on 30 September 2019 at 23: 59M.

 

Final Round: Mr & Miss Kids World 2019/20

The Final round for Mr & Miss Kids World 2019/20, will take place on 5 October at, uShaka Marine World (venue to be announced).

      • 1. All finalists MUST be checked in between 15:30m to 16:30pm. Late arrival may cause points to be deducted from final score.
        2. Contestants will be judged on physical appearance, smile, confidence, walk, poise, public etc.
        3. All contestants attending the Finals MUST be have blue jeans, a plain white T-shirt/ vest for male contestants and plain white vest for females/girls and their finalist sash, for the first round of the final.
        4. All contestants MUST also have age appropriate evening wear for the final.
        5. Mr & Miss Kids World contestants, who make it to the Top 5 of the final, may be asked questions by the judges.
        6. Absolutely no makeup and hair extensions are allowed in the Mr & Miss Kids World, category. Braids are permissable. Lip-gloss and glitter are acceptable.
        7. No high heels longer than 2cm/20mm are allowed on Mr & Miss Kids World.
        8. Points will be deducted should any contestant not abide by these rules.
        9. 2 runners up and 1 winner will be crowned per category; 2nd Runner up, 1st Runner Up and Winner; the Little People’s Choice winners will also be announced (1 male, 1 female).
        10. Only the winner of each category will receive prizes (cash and/or sponsored gifts)

 

Final Round

The Final round for Mr & Miss uShaka, Miss Junior uShaka 2019/20, will take place on 12 October at uShaka Marine World (venue to be announced).

      • 1. All contestants MUST be checked in between 16:30m to 17:30pm. Late arrival may cause points to be deducted from final score.
        2. Contestants will be judged on physical appearance, smile, confidence, walk, poise, public speaking ability etc.
        3. All contestants attending the Finals MUST be have blue jeans, a plain white T-shirt/ vest for male contestants and plain white vest for females/girls and their semi-finalist sash, for the first round of the final.
        4. All contestants MUST also have age appropriate evening wear for the final.
        5. Miss Junior and Mr & Miss uShaka contestants who make it to the Top 5 of the final, will be asked random questions by the judges.
        6. Minimal makeup allowed on the Miss Junior uShaka contestants.
        7. Miss Junior contestants are allowed high heels no more than 5cm/ 50mm.
        8. Makeup is allowed for Mr & Miss uShaka contestants, however make up must look natural.
        9. Points will be deducted should any contestant not abide by these rules.
        10. 3 winners will be crowned per category; 2nd Runner up, 1st Runner Up and Winner; 1 People’s Choice winner from each of the 3 categories will be announced)
        11. Only the winner of each category will receive prizes (cash and/or sponsored gifts)

 

RULES, DATES & VENUES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.

      • Judges decisions are final & irrevocable.
      • All contestants must attend all the rounds of the competition, which they have qualified for without exception.
      • Images & photographs submitted to the pageant and taken at the event may be used on uShaka social media platforms and other media for post event promotion or editorial purposes.
      • Manual Registrations must be submitted by 16:45 P.M. on 31 May 2019
      • Online Registrations must be submitted by 23:59 P.M. on 17 June 2019
      • Registrations are not complete until a completed and signed registration form, photographs and birth certificates/ ID’s are submitted.
      • No approaching the judges or auditors during the competition.
      • Photo selection will be done by a panel by no later than 8 June 2019.
      • Contestants who meet all the requirements will be invited to one of the Regional Rounds, which will take place on 13 July, 20 July, and 27 July 2019 (dates subject to change).
      • Contestants MUST be within the appropriate age category to enter and must be within the age category in which they entered, upon crowning on 5 October (Mr & Miss Kids World category) and 12 October 2019 (Mr, Miss uShaka, Miss Junior uShaka category) . Please note that uShaka Marine World does not charge a contestant entry fee to enter this competition.Employees of uShaka Marine World/ Durban Marine Theme Park, event sponsors, advertising agencies, affiliates; and members of their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
      • Entries are open only to the South African citizens, with valid South African identification.
      • uShaka Marine World (Durban Marine Theme Park) reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if these contest rules have been violated in any way.
      • Contestants who have participated previously in this pageant and have not taken any title in the category in which they are entering, are allowed to re-enter the competition; however, it remains the sole discretion of DMTP/uShaka Marine World to allow previous contestants to re-enter
      • No purchase is necessary to participate or win. This contest is void where prohibited by law. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.
